Perth - Day 4

weather - rainy
temperature - 8c - 16c
itinerary - harbour town factory outlet

we initially planned to go to fremantle today. made plans with uncle zamri since he wanted to follow us to harbour town. but the weather wasnt on our side. it was raining from the moment we got up. so we changed our plans and opted to go to harbour town instead. at least we'll be indoors.

we asked the concierge what is the best way to get to harbour town (apart from the hop on-hop off bus which we took on monday). they told us to take the shuttle bus to burswood train station, take the train to perth city (4 stops), then change platform and take the train to fremantle. harbour town is 2 minutes walk from the first stop, city west. trains from perth city to city west is free, we were told.

so off we went. it wasnt raining at first, but as the shuttle got nearer to burswood train station it started pouring. like it or not, we had to run through the rain to the train station. hubby took both strollers, i took asyraf, tiza took amir and tisu ran alone. we were wet!! luckily we didnt have to wait long for the train, it came in 6 minutes.

we got to perth train station in about 10 minutes. it was a small station, but it was nice. crossed the tracks to get to the platform where the train to fremantle was to depart. we missed the first one, busy taking photos. but another came in 15 minutes.

when we got to city west station it was drizzling slightly. we saw harbour town from the station but didnt know how to get there. pakai tibai je. pass through a few nice apartments, into the main street - wellington street. the outlet was just one traffic light away.

we separated when we got there - tiza went with tisu, and the four of us went on our own. planned to meet at the kebab shop. i'm assuming its halal so we can have beef, finally.

the ground floor was nothing much. things were still pretty expensive even though its "factory priced". shoes were around aud59.99. then we went upstairs, there's where i went crazy. i went into cotton on kids. amir followed me as they were showing 'cars' on the telly. hubby saw outside with asyraf. i went to the bargain rack. they had pajama bottoms at only aud10. how cheap is that! they came with matching tops but the tops were missing. i found some t-shirts that could go well with the bottoms at only aud5. so i took 3 pairs, 2 for asyraf and 1 for amir.

then we went to the next shop. by that time i was already on cloud 9. we got 2 petter rabbit tumblers at only aud3. 1 for amir and 1 for asyraf. the next shop was kidswear x factory. the clothes there were just great, most are priced at only aud5. amir and asyraf both got mock t-shirts, asyraf got an overalls set, both got 2-3 t-shirts and baby no 3 got a nice onesies and 3 sets of mitten, botties and hat. all for just aud43.

by the time we met tiza and tisu for lunch, i was tired. the boys slept so we managed to enjoy a nice kebab meal. then we walked for another hour while tiza explored the first floor. we called for a taxi at the tourist lounge but none came after an hour so we redah the rain again to the train station. we got we stuck in the rush hour and were in a packed train to the city. we hailed a taxi outside the station and was stuck in the jam all the way to the hotel. but at least we get to see perth city at night.

since we had a long day, we opted for room service dinner that night. tiring but worth it. the clothes we got the for boys were a bargain!
