Perth - Day 3

weather - occasional rain, showers, windy
temperature - 10c - 16c
itinerary - perth zoo

the sun was out in the morning, so going to the zoo should be a good plan. we finally get to see the view from our hotel room, the past 2 days were raining.

we left the hotel for the zoo at around 930am. the zoo was only a 20 minutes drive away. the taxi drove us to a residential area. all of the sudden, it stopped and were at at the zoo's entrance. a bit weird being in the midst of a housing area. the zoo was small, compact but just nice. it rained a few times but luckily they had shelters around the compound. the nicest was the bukit station where we stopped for drinks and chocolates (and susu for asyraf).

amir was scared of the animals and wouldnt sit in his buggy. he was also making sure everyone was around...think he was scared we'd be "jurassic park-ed". once we got to the rainforest retreat, he was better. he even wanted to go across the bridge.

we finished the whole zoo in just 3 hours and stopped for lunch at the cafe. i loved the books at the souveniour shop. they had a whole range but as usual, i only bought keychains, t-shirts for the the boys and some nice cups.

it was difficult trying to get a taxi back to the hotel. the taxi stand was around the corner from the zoo, but there was no taxi there. we waited for 5 minutes before it suddenly started raining. we had to run to the nearest shelter and tried to hail a taxi there. none came so we started walking to the nearby shops and finally got a taxi at the petrol station (and it was starting to rain yet again).

we were tired when we got back to the hotel. tssc suggested dinner at victoria station in the hotel. as the room service didnt have much choice and going out to malaysian restaurants would take up a lot of time and energy, we agreed with him.
