6 Months Old

akmal turned 6 months yesterday. nothing much in the development front from him. i mentioned earlier that i felt his milestone was at the fifth rather than sixth month. he's already eating and pushing himself up on his arms, no change there. he can sleep through the night on some nights and would wake up for a 3am feed on others, no change there. akmal still screams the roof down when no one is holding him, no change there.

the only change that will be visible (this is actually from our part) is akmal's formula. once he finishes the 2 boxes of enfalac, we will give him dupro till he is 1 year old. foodwise, he's been taking porridge in school but still takes nestum at home. oh...he's now getting grabbier. he would grab the remote in front of him, toys near him, things on the changing table, anything within his reach. he also loves holding on to the arms of anyone who holds him on their lap.

akmal's grown a bit though. he looks taller / longer (how do you describe a baby's length, anyway). surprisingly, he also gone fairer. he looks a lot like me, especially his eyes.

its been pretty stressful with a baby around the house, much more with akmal's temperament and need for attention. but we're taking it one day at a time and keep putting a future date to look forward to. when he was smaller, we'd go...just a couple for days til his turns 2 months and he would be more independent. then it was...just wait till he turns 4 months and can sleep longer at night. now we're going...wait for the 9th month mark when he'll be able to hold his own. that makes it better, actually.

as a 6th month present to his daddy, akmal slept through the night last night after 2 grumpy nights.
