Eleven Month Old Amira

my little baby's a month shy form turning one. how fast the time flies.

amira's showing so much development. she knows so many words - bottle, mandi, sleep, makan, food, babap, cak, peekaboo, cat, no. she knows tones of voices. a stern 'amira!' would make her pause in motion. and usually followed by passing whatever she picked up to her parents. a strong 'no' would be followed by her shaking her head. she knows to respond to us calling her with grunts or by crawling over to us or by coming out from behind the curtains. her favourite is our 'where's amira syireen', where she would respond with a big smile and a hand high up in the air ala hermoine grainger. we absolutely love it when she does that.

food wise, amira is trying new thifoodngs yet wanting to stay with food that is familiar to her. she's trying out pasta and chicken and more porridge. i usually prepare either one of those 3 as a main meal and add her favourite puree - sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot, pear, apple, peas, that's her familiar food. she's still not into porridge so its a challenge. pasta and chicken, she's ok with. but porridge is a bit of work. usually i would put a cup of rice and cook and then blend and store in a tupperware. she still doesnt like chunkier porridge and prefers it blended. when its meal time, i would scoop a couple of spoons into a small pan, add more liquid and cook it with her puree. so its double cooked and double mashed. i'm kinda worried about toddler food, i cant for the life of me remember what they are, actually.

amira sticks to three bottles of milk a day. one full bottle late morning, one before her afternoon nap and one before she goes to bed at night. she has breakfast and dinner. i tried to add a light lunch, a fruit puree but that distorted her bottle feed so i stopped. she's better with a cookie when her abangs have their lunch before afternoon school, that doesnt spoil her normal meal schedule.

amira is slowly changing her sleeping habit. she goes to bed a bit later than she previously did, now her bedtime is around 9.30pm - 10pm. she shows her tiredness with a bit of whining, and rubbing her eyes and looking for me, when she's being carried, she would lay her head on my shoulder and give a small wave to her brothers and daddy. a full bottle and then she would get a good 11-hour sleep. she wakes up after i finish my chores in the morning, which is so wonderful.

amira takes one long nap during the day, usually in the late afternoon. she would probably get about half an hour of less nap in the morning but she's ok to do without it.

going out with amira is so easy because she's so relaxed. she loves being carried in the new boba 4g i bought.

we're now watching out for amira to walk. she's taken her first steps. she has gotten to 4 steps at a time but she's not fully confident to take anything more than that. but she's trying, alhamdulillah. for now, we happy to see her forever pushing her self up and strengthening her legs.
